About the Department
The Department of Social Studies Education, affiliated with the Department of Elementary Education in the Faculty of Education at Yıldız Technical University, began operations in the 2010–2011 academic year. The department’s founding purpose is to train teachers who foster positive attitudes toward Social Studies education and possess professional skills in their field. Graduates of this program are expected to serve as positive role models for their students in both their personal and professional lives, to keep abreast of innovations in their field for their own professional development, and to possess effective communication skills.
